PRESTIGE RUBBERS (PVT) LTD

Prestige Rubbers (Pvt) Ltd was incorporated in 2007 as a member of Associated Speciality Rubbers (Pvt) Ltd. It is located in Siyambalape South (Gampaha District), 19 kilometres from Colombo which is strategically situated with easy access to sea and airport. We manufacture Technically Specified Rubber (TSR) in this facility for direct & indirect export facilitating just in time deliveries to factories in both local & international. We own a modern laboratory with a proﬁcient team to guarantee a high quality production.This factory is the central hub of the group, where all shipping and sourcing materials are carried out.

The ASR Group

We are a dynamic organization with an illustrious history.

The history of ASR Group began with our first Chairman late Mr. H.L.M. Thowfeek who was a leading exporter of conventional rubber grades through Associated Traders (Pvt) Ltd incorporated back in 1955.

In 1964 his son late Mr. M.T. Kamardeen joined the business and under took management responsibilities in 1979, and in 1980 we obtained the Patent for reducing Nitrogen & Ash Content in Latex using Natural Enzyme. With the cancellation of China/Sri Lanka rice-rubber pact the Island nation lost the demand for Natural Rubber during 1980. In order to find new market and secure the industry then trade Minister Mr. Lalith Ethulathmudali (late) arranged an international business delegation. During this tour Mr. M.T. Kamardeen met met leading European Companies who were promoting superior Natural Rubber grades in Europe.

Encouraged by their commitment and armed with technical knowhow, our former Chairman Mr M.T Kamardeen formed Associated Speciality Rubbers (Pvt) Ltd on the 2nd May of 1986 to manufacture specialty grades of Natural Rubber, and obtained approval of Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka for manufacturing Technically Specified Rubber. In 1996, being the first ever producer, ASR started Commercial production of Superior Processing Rubber (SP/PA rubber).

In 2001 Mr. Shazni Kamardeen Son of late Mr. M.T. Kamardeen joined the business. He formed our sister company Prestige Rubbers (Pvt) Ltd as a BOI Project in 2007.

ASR commenced commercial production of Depolymerized Natural Rubber (LNR) in 2008 and thereafter Commercial production of MMA Grafted Rubber (MG Rubber) in 2009. ASR acquired the Diurumpitiya Rubber Factory in 2014 from Le-Ferne Laboratories (Pvt) Ltd. Mr. Shazni Kamardeen assumed duties as the Group Chairman from 2016 onward to maneuver ever changing global challenges ahead.
